Individuals who do not want to study for a degree are welcome register for individual modules without registering for the degree as a whole. If they satisfy the minimum performance requirements for the module (attendance for the full duration of the module, contribution to the class and group projects and completion of the individual assignment), they will obtain a Merit Certificate. If they only attend the module without doing the individual assignment, they will obtain a Certificate of Attendance. If an individual accumulates a number of Certificates of Merit and then decides to register for the degree, that person will be allowed to exchange the Certificates of Merit for credits towards the degree on condition the applicant has the required undergraduate qualifications. Entry requirements for participation in the modules as a non-degree student will be the same as for entry into the degree programme. However, full fees are payable for the degree even if credits have been obtained for prior work. Applicants who do not qualify for entry into the degree programme who would like to register as Executive Students for individual modules may apply and their applications will be seriously considered.

For executive students (who will receive a certificate if they attend all 6 days of the module and contribute to the group project) the fees are R5 750 per module for 2009
